“Le Journal” came in 1990 as the spin-off of “O Diário de um Tímido Forasteiro” (Journal of a Shy Stranger). Trying out new kinds of puppets as well as new ways of the participation of the puppeteer, it built a scene without words, symbolic and raw. In “Le Journal”, the relation music-puppets differed from other plays by Giramundo because it was off-hand. The choreography onstage was open, enabling dialog with everchanging music. The contemporary “O Grivo” joined Giramundo in music composition and script-planning, and also in live performances during the shows.
